DL #50
Jaya brought the guitar, Travis brought the line of sight, Zak brought the verses, someone else brought the jewel skillz, and sausalito’s finest looked for the blonde. i was late and missed much including a dragon song, so had no choice but to read from journal and sing some songs.
i’m blogging this the next night — from the monthly taste of rome open mic — i was called up early to read, gave it my best even though it was still early in the eve and no time to drink house wine. but where are the dirty loads crew??? all fashionably late or might be fashionably unavailable. jacques was here for a second but is walking towards the exit. le sigh.
back to DL 50 - after the poems were read and the songs sung we walked down the sidewalk and who should amble towards us but el jeffe ? with the DL crew reunited and feeling so good we congregated out of the fresh foggy wind in an undisclosed tree lined borderzone, made an offering, and then i sang while the others shadow danced.
back to taste of rome - its after 8, jaya is here, place is filling up. i’m kind of bitter because my poem rocks so hard but it was too early for rock when i was asked to read. so as usual DL kicks ass and all the others are a pass. face it we row, and the rest of you blow. chunks. chumps.
edit - jacques is still here, so the night is not a total loss….….and i’m being sarcastic in my dis attempts gentle readers.

true story: this morning i was telling ty about this cool theater in san francisco run by ty.
the san francisco theater is called Stage Werx and is located right near union square. They have plays, and shows, and monthlies - and - the 49 seat theater is available for rent.
from the stage werx about us page:
***************** ** *******
Stage Werx Theatre was founded in 2007 by Cory and Ty Mckenzie. These sisters spent their childhood running around rehearsal halls while their parents performed in community theatre. It only seems fitting that they would wind up running a space of their own.
Stage Werx is dedicated to the community and has been established to:
* Provide a forum in which theatre artists (actors, directors, playwrights, designers) may further develop their talents and skills
* Further the vitality, stability and development of live theatre in San Francisco by producing and hosting premieres and “reinventions” of previously produced materials
* Increase the Theatre’s profile in particular and the profile of San Francisco theatre in general by creating unique projects of interest
*But really, we’re here to open opportunities for freaks, starving artists, newcomers, and old hats to get their stage on.

ty lives on a boat and performs in plays in theaters. ty lives on a boat and runs a theater where people perform plays. coincidence…..?!??!!
