morning row in to shore, strong ebb tide, very strong winds
whoosh whoosh over the waves, always row towards the waves
splash — as the tip of the oar catches the tumbling wave, wets my face
push push against the wind and tides, slowly past the anchored boats
across the channel towards the schooner wind break

remember: when coming in to a harbor stay above the rushing tide
